Some reports have claimed that the Punjab police arrested 55 men and women from what they described as an illegal rave party and that the police recorded videos of some of the accused at the police station and uploaded them to social media. This is clearly illegal and five police officers involved have already been suspended.
No one should use technology to humiliate others and there is an urgent need to review protocols when it comes to what information police officers are allowed to release about suspects to the public.
