I would like to draw public attention towards the increasing threat of heatwaves, which are becoming more frequent and intense due to climate change. Heatwaves pose serious health risks, including dehydration, heatstroke and even death. To stay safe, people must take proper precautions. It is essential to stay hydrated, avoid going out in direct sunlight, wear light-coloured and loose clothes and use umbrellas, caps or sunglasses when outside.

Elderly people, children and those with existing health conditions must be extra cautious. It is also advisable to avoid strenuous activities during the hottest parts of the day. Public places and workplaces should also ensure proper ventilation and availability of drinking water. I request the concerned authorities to run awareness campaigns and ensure emergency services are prepared to handle heat-related illnesses.
