KARACHI: Reko Diq Mining Company (RDMC), operated by Barrick Gold Corporation, held the Pakistan Supplier Roadshow in Karachi to engage with potential vendors and suppliers from across the country.

The event was part of RDMC’s ongoing efforts to build a robust, inclusive, and competitive supply chain for the Reko Diq project -- one of the world’s largest undeveloped copper-gold mines, according to a company statement issued on Thursday.

Led by RDMC’s Supply Chain team, the roadshow attracted more than 200 companies, including small and medium-sized enterprises from Balochistan and national-level firms.Attendees received an overview of the Reko Diq project, including its operational principles, procurement strategy, tax framework, community development initiatives, hiring policies and partnership opportunities during both construction and operational phases.

The Karachi event followed a similar vendors’ expo held in Quetta last year. The forum enabled potential partners to ask questions, understand RDMC’s standards and expectations, and explore the registration process to qualify as suppliers. “This event is part of our commitment to local economic development,” said Head of Supply Chain at RDMC Martin Heunes. “Reko Diq will become the largest copper and gold mining operation in Pakistan, and we aim to do business with capable local vendors and suppliers that meet our technical, safety, and ethical standards. We are also encouraging international companies to partner with Reko Diq and invest in building sustainable capabilities in Pakistan.”
