The education authorities are reportedly likely to approve a four-year LLB programme in Pakistan to modernise legal education, replacing the traditional five-year model. I believe this is a commendable initiative as it will not only reduce the duration of law degrees but also align Pakistan’s legal education with international standards, where many advanced countries offer three- to four-year LLB programmes.
I view it as a responsible and pragmatic move, marking good news for students seeking admission to an LLB programme this year.
