Bipasha Basu recently took a trip down memory lane and revealed why she chose to take on the role in the 2003 film, Jism.
The Bollywood actress, who portrayed Sonia Khanna in the thriller-romantic, shared that she was advised against accepting the project due to its “adult content”.
In an exclusive conversation with Times Now, the 46-year-old explained that the film turned out to be a major breakthrough in her career.
“Hands down, Jism,"she said. Jism was the time when I was at the peak, and everyone told me you cannot do adult content film. You are like the typical Hindi heroine who is established in people’s hearts now. And I said, I just like the story so much. I said, I’ll go ahead and do it.”
Later in the interview, the Alone star noted that the decision proved to be a turning point, “So it’s been path-breaking for me. That has been one very important film.”
Jism, starring Bipasha and John Abraham, was directed by Amit Saxena.
On the professional front, the Phir Hera Pheri actress was last seen in her 2020 digital debut series Dangerous and has been on a hiatus since.
