Khuzdar bus blast toll rises to seven

Student lost both his eyes in blast while another student has lost his left eye and also received serious injuries

QUETTA: The death toll in Khuzdar APS bus blast rose to seven as a seriously injured student Haider succumbed to his injuries in CMH, Quetta on Friday.

The seven victims include five girls’ students, a driver of the bus and a soldier who were present in the bus when it was targeted at the Zero Point area of Quetta-Karachi National Highway.

Officials said that one lost her two daughters very first day identified as Eshia Saleem and Sehar Saleem who were students of 10 and 8 grades in the Army Public School Khuzdar while their brother was admitted to CMH, Quetta, who seriously injured in the attack.

Eshia Saleem martyred on the spot along with two other girls’ students while her sister Sehar Saleem got seriously injured and shifted to CMH Quetta where she succumbed to her injuries. Their father is Sobidar. “All the three brothers and sisters went to school to meet their classmates and friends as they were leaving for Kharian with their parents on May 22 as his father was transferred.

Half a dozen students are admitted to Quetta CMH. A student lost both his eyes in the blast while another student has lost his left eye and also received serious injuries.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Yasar Iqbal Dashti lead a rally in Khuzdar city, which was joined by large number of people from different walks of life, including girl and boy students, teachers, members of political parties, Hindu community, officials of various government departments and officials of Kalat scouts participated in the rally.

The participants of the rally carrying banners and placards inscribed with pictures of martyrs of the bus attack, marched on different roads of Khuzdar. They chanted slogans against terrorism. They demanded arrest of the terrorists involved in targeting students.

The rally after marching on the roads reached Khuzdar Press Club where speakers strongly condemned the attack on students’ bus and termed it a barbarian act. They alleged that India was involved in terrorists attack. They said that all steps should be taken for the arrest of the terrorists.
