New beginning?

Reading the news, I got to know about the final verdict in the Noor Mukadam case. As a woman, it is a moment of joy and relief for me. I offer my condolences and prayers for the victim and her family. The gruesome murder of Noor had left me and the women of Pakistan in utter shock and fear. In these moments, we must remember that there are still many injustices waiting to be addressed. The women of our country are still not safe and the government needs to create reforms and laws that not only protect women but must also educate the people about these laws.

We also need to work on changing discriminatory practices. Noor Mukadam’s justice has been served, but there are hundreds, if not thousands, of Noor Mukadams in our country that have hopes from the system. This Supreme Court’s verdict is hopefully the beginning of a safer Pakistan for women.
