ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Monday adjourned until May 22 hearing into the imposition of super tax after the counsel for FBR concluded his arguments on Income Tax Ordinance.
A five-member constitutional bench — headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan — heard the case. Justice Aminuddin Khan asked the company counsel Makhdoom Ali Khan if he would like to respond to which he requested that written submissions by Dr. Shahnawaz and others be provided first so he could prepare a reply.
Additional Attorney General Aamir Rehman mentioned that he wanted to bring three court decisions regarding Section 4B into the court’s attention, all of which support additional tax for specific purposes. The court instructed him to submit these decisions in writing and adjourned the hearing until May 22.
