LAHORE: The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has officially revised the schedule for its presidential election, moving the date from May 20 to May 27 due to logistical challenges faced by FIFA and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) observers.
A PFF official issued an official notification confirming the change, citing difficulties in coordinating international oversight for the election process. The elections will take place during the PFF Congress meeting, where both the President and Executive Body will be elected.
The delay comes amid rising tensions between Pakistan and India, which have disrupted travel schedules for FIFA and AFC officials. The presence of these observers is crucial to ensuring transparency and legitimacy in the electoral process, particularly given Pakistan’s history of governance disputes in football.
