The recent India-Pakistan conflict reveals just how prevalent misinformation has become. Many fabricated images, incendiary remarks and false claims were spread during last week’s clashes.
On the Indian side, even the mainstream media was involved in generating and/or amplifying misinformation. To counter misinformation, social media sites need to develop more rigorous fact-checking systems.
