I would like to draw the attention of the concerned authorities to the immense difficulties caused by the recent ban on chinchees and rickshaws on several of Karachi’s major roads. The sudden restriction has severely impacted daily commuters. Rickshaws have long served as an affordable, fast and easily accessible mode of transport. They were especially beneficial for students, enabling them to reach universities and colleges quickly and at low fares without the frustration of long waiting times.
Since the ban, commuters have been facing significant hardships. They are now forced to wait longer for overcrowded buses, resulting in frequent delays and late arrivals at educational institutions and workplaces. Students, in particular, have been severely affected, as the absence of rickshaws has taken away a crucial, reliable and economical transport option. I earnestly appeal to the relevant departments to reconsider this decision and seek a more balanced solution.
