Sewer line work in Johar Town inspected

LAHORE:Wasa Managing Director Ghufran Ahmed on Sunday visited the ongoing project of replacing the trunk sewer on Khayaban Ferdowsi in Johar Town.

He inspected the work of trunk sewer where Xen Muzaffar Abbas gave a detailed briefing to him about the progress of the work. He told MD that work on the sewer line was under way simultaneously at three places; a 100-foot line of 66-inch diameter has been laid while 1,200 feet sewer line was laid.

A target of laying approximately 6,500 feet of sewer lines by June 30 has been set, Xen said, adding the Ferdowsi Street Trunk Sewer will cover 4.15 kilometers from Shok Chowk to Shaukat Khanum and the estimated cost of the project was Rs1.9 billion.

MD said Nespak was continuously monitoring the project to ensure the quality of the work. He directed that the work of replacing the trunk sewer from Main Khayaban Ferdowsi, Shok Chowk to Shaukat Khanum should be completed as soon as possible.

Wasa MD gave instructions to further accelerate the pace of the work. He warned that no compromise should be made on quality in development works and the project should be completed within the stipulated time frame.
