BRT delay

The recent announcement by the Sindh government that the BRT Red Line project will face yet another two-year delay is nothing short of a shock for the people of Karachi. This project, already marred by almost three years of slow and chaotic execution, has now become a symbol of systemic mismanagement and indifference to public suffering. What began as a promising, internationally-backed transit solution has devolved into a nightmare of dug-up roads, endless traffic jams and missed deadlines. This is not merely a transport issue but a governance failure. The city deserves a transparent progress report, a firm and realistic completion date and third-party monitoring to ensure this project does not remain a permanent scar on Karachi’s infrastructure landscape.
