KARACHI: Petroleum product sales totalled 1.46 million tonnes in April, marking a 32 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase and a 20 per cent rise month-on-month (MoM).
In March 2025, oil marketing companies (OMCs) had recorded sales of 1.22 million tonnes, oil sales data showed on Friday.The surge in petroleum sales reflects growing demand, driven by increased economic activity across the country.
According to a report by Arif Habib Limited, total sales for the first 10 months of the current fiscal year reached 13.22 million tonnes, up 6.0 per cent YoY compared to 12.44 million tonnes in the same period last year.
By product, Motor Spirit (MS) sales rose 24 per cent YoY and 14 per cent MoM to 660,000 tonnes in April 2025. High-Speed Diesel (HSD) sales climbed 33 per cent YoY and 28 per cent MoM to 620,000 tonnes. Furnace Oil (FO) sales surged 182 per cent YoY and 55 per cent MoM to 80,000 tonnes.
Company-wise data showed that, among listed entities, Attock Petroleum Limited (APL) recorded sales of 130,000 tonnes in April 2025, up 28 per cent YoY and 20 per cent MoM, mainly due to increased FO and HSD sales.Pakistan State Oil (PSO) posted sales of 620,000 tonnes, up 12 per cent YoY and 22 per cent MoM.
Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited (WAFI) reported a 23 per cent YoY increase and a 14 per cent MoM rise to 100,000 tonnes.Hascol’s sales came in at 50,000 tonnes, up 76 per cent YoY but down 4.0 per cent MoM.
