Hussain Hamid leading in Chairman WAPDA Golf

LAHORE: Hussain Hamid of Royal Palm was in front after the second round of the 6th Chairman WAPDA Amateur Golf Championship at the Lahore Gymkhana Golf Club Course on Saturday.

Hussain Hamid emerged as the front runner with an outstanding score of 145 (72-73), narrowly leading Qasim Ali Khan from Lahore Gymkhana who scored 149 (74-75). Muhammad Jamshaid was placed third with a gross score of 151 (75-76).

Ana James Gill dominated the ladies category with a three-day gross score of 240 (78-82-80), claiming the first gross position. Zeb Un Nisa finished as runner-up with 251 (79-85-87) while Shahzadi Gulfam secured third place with 283 (95-90-98). In the ladies net competition Minaa Zainab topped the leaderboard with a net score of 143 (71-72), followed by Sobia Waseem with 145 (73-72) and Sameea Javed Ali with 153 (77-76).

Ahmad Zafar Hayat displayed exceptional skill in the senior amateur category, winning with a gross score of 145 (74-71). Tariq Mehmood secured second place with 150 (75-75) whereas Sardar Murad Khan followed at third place with 153 (78-75).

In the net standings Mian M. Shabbir Nagiana led with an impressive 136, followed by Najam Hafeez with 142, and M. Nasir Irshad with 143.

The Veterans division saw Javed A. Khan from Lahore Gymkhana claiming the top gross position with 36, followed by Dr. Tariq H. Malik with 38, and W/C Tariq Baloch with 39. In the net competition, Asad Hameed and Rao Iftikhar tied with 32 followed by Max Babri with a net score of 33. The Juniors category featured promising young talent, with Mubeen Akram having top gross position with a score of 39. Muhammad Sheheryar Qureshi and Shahzain Iftikhar are following with scores of 40 and 45 respectively. In the net category, Ahad Aziz claimed lead with 30, followed by Hamza Moeed Yousaf with 33, and Maria Waqar with 39.
