Pakistan faces significant challenges when it comes to solid waste management and generates approximately 49.6 million tonnes of solid waste per year due to poor infrastructure and collection of waste. It creates unhygienic conditions, which then lead to environmental and health problems.
Among the solid wastes, e-waste, which includes which includes electronic devices, is among the fastest growing. The government should focus on waste reduction and recycling and improved collection and disposal systems.
