LAHORE:The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) has questioned the posting of the Chairman of Shaikh Zayed Hospital, Lahore.
The PMA demanded appointment of a regular professor to fill the prestigious post, said PMA central leadership and office-bearers during a press conference held under the chairmanship of President Dr Izhar Ahmed Chaudhry.
The Pakistan Medical Association also condemned recently announced privatisation and outsourcing in Punjab. The government wants to privatise BHU, RHCs and Jinnah Hospital, Lahore, which is unacceptable.
The Pakistan Medical Association decided that this privatisation policy would be challenged in the courts and would protest against it. The Pakistan Medical Association also strongly opposed to the POS' appointments in hospitals. The Pakistan Medical Association also condemned that a group, which is occupying PMDC had damaged the standard of medical education. They demanded that uniform fee structure should be applied in all private medical colleges.
