ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Air Force (PAF) dethroned the Army to march into the final of the 54th National Volleyball Championship at the POF Wah Gymnasium where they will face PAF to decide the title.
In Wednesday’s first semifinal, PAF outplayed Army in straight sets 25-17, 25-23, 25-17. In the second semifinal, Wapda powered past Navy in straight sets 25-17, 25-21, 25-20. PAF put pressure on Army right from the word go, making it difficult for the team to regroup and manage a counter punch.
Afaq Khan and Mustafa were instrumental in bringing the victory to PAF. Afaq’s smashes were a treat to watch as Army defenders had no answer to his attacking posture. Wapda delivered a commanding performance against a tough Navy side.
