PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members staged a protest outside the KP Assembly against the alleged drone strike in Katlang.
PTI leaders, including MNAs Arbab Sher Ali, Shandana Gulzar, and provincial minister Meena Khan, participated in the demonstration.
The party’s Peshawar Region General Secretary Arbab Sher Ali spoke to the protesters.
Nine people were martyred in the Katlang incident, said Arbab Sher Ali.
“Neither the provincial government nor the local police had prior knowledge,” he added. “Initially, it was said that the victims were terrorists; later, the statement was changed,” he added.
The PTI MNA demanded the Shaheed Package for the families who lost members in the drone attack. “Those responsible must apologize to the families of the victims,” he said.
Arbab Sher Ali, however, pledged support to the institutions in the fight against terrorism. “Terrorists must be eliminated,” he emphasized. “If the operation was beneficial, why didn’t it yield results during the previous governments?” he questioned. “Whether there are party differences or not, we are united in the war against terrorism,” he concluded.
