LAHORE: The recruitment process for the tribal forces, border military police, and Baloch Levies has been successfully completed after a 27-year hiatus, marking a significant step towards maintaining public order at the interprovincial Balochistan border in Punjab.
This recruitment drive is the first of its kind under the directive of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who ensured that the process was conducted with utmost transparency and merit.
A total of 10,236 applications were received from candidates vying for various positions, including riders, naiks, and other essential posts within the border military police and Baloch Levies in Dera Ghazi Khan. After a rigorous screening process, 771 candidates were shortlisted for interviews, with 325 being selected for the positions. In Rajanpur, 2,855 applications were received, leading to 525 candidates being called for interviews, out of which 180 were selected. Successful candidates will receive job offer letters and undergo six months of mandatory training as per the requirements set by Commissioner DG Khan, Ashfaq Ahmed.
A key feature of this recruitment was the introduction of a women’s quota for the first time in the history of the tribal force.
