ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Tuesday offered Fateha for the departed souls of ex-MNA Hamidul Haq, Nawab Yousuf Talpur, MNA, victims of terror attacks and others.

Minister for Science and Technology Khalid Hussain Magsi led the Fateha.

The lawmakers paid a glowing tribute to late Nawab Yousuf Talpur, MNA, for his contributions to democracy and politics.

The proceedings of the first day after the death of the veteran politician and sitting MNA were adjourned without executing any business as per the parliamentary traditions.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari acknowledged the services of Yousuf Talpur for democracy, his party and as parliamentarian.

Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif also paid homage to the deceased for his struggle for democracy. He said Nawab Talpur remained loyal to his party for decades.

Federal Minister Amir Muqam, MQM Member Khwaja Izharul Hasan and PTI parliamentarians also spoke on the occasion. Ali Muhammad Khan also paid homage to Maulana Hamidul Haq for his services for democracy and as a religious scholar.

Speaker Ayaz Sadiq also paid homage to Nawab Yousuf Talpur saying apart from being a veteran politician, he was also a seasoned parliamentarian. The House particularly recognized his efforts for bringing agricultural issues to the forefront during the parliamentary sessions.
