Lahore: The Lahore Polo Club (LPC) is set to host the 62nd National Open Polo Championship for the Quaid-e-Azam Gold Cup, reaffirming its status as a premier polo venue.
The event, backed by Bank Alfalah, will see participation from top-tier international players and officials, enhancing its global appeal. LPC President Malik Azam Hayat Noon emphasized the rich heritage of the championship, which began in 1963 as the El Effendi Cup and was renamed in 1977 to honor the Father of the Nation.
Noon expressed confidence in the enduring partnership with Bank Alfalah, highlighting the bank’s unwavering support for sports, particularly polo. The tournament will feature ten international players from Argentina, England, and Spain, with umpires hailing from England and Argentina. An Irish commentator will add to the event’s prestige and excitement.
