Pakistan, Russia agree to restore counter-terrorism dialogue

Interior minister emphasises that terrorism was a global issue requiring joint efforts to address it

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held a meeting with Russian Ambassador Albert P. Khorev here in which they discussed bilateral relations and matters of shared interest in detail.

They also focused on enhancing cooperation in counter-terrorism and anti-narcotics efforts, agreeing to reinstate the counter-terrorism dialogue between the countries. The two also agreed to increase the exchange of delegations to bolster mutual relations.

The Russian ambassador extended an invitation to Pakistani officials to take part in anti-narcotics training programmes in Moscow and Siberia.

The interior minister emphasised that terrorism was a global issue requiring joint efforts to address it. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening ties with Russia and highlighting the significant opportunities for cooperation across various sectors.
