LAHORE: Punjab Saaf Pani Authority (PSPA) has initiated restoration of hundreds of inactive water filtration plants across the province on an emergency basis.
CEO PSPA Syed Zahid Aziz stated this on Saturday briefing a meeting chaired by Provincial Minister Bilal Yasin and PSPA Chairman Zahid Akram.
The PSPA chairman told the meeting that all inactive filtration plants will be restored according to modern standards.
He also told the participants about the current situation of clean water in the province and the action plan.
He said more than 5,000 water filtration plants across the province will be managed by the PSPA and they would be made functional before summer.
Zahid said a comprehensive plan was also underway to meet the demands for drinking water before summer.
He said modern technology can make canal water drinkable according to world standards.
The minister said clean water will be ensured throughout the province and work was being done rapidly to ensure the provision of clean water in rural areas of Punjab.
The Minister for Housing Punjab also reviewed various models required for the provision of clean water.
