KARACHI: On the third day of the eighth round of e President’s Trophy Grade One, Ghani Glass defeated the top team on the points table, State Bank, by 5 wickets.
Ghani Glass were given a target of 153 runs to win at the UBL Sports Complex. At the end of the second day’s play, Ghani Glass scored 103 runs for 3 wickets. On Friday, they scored the 50 runs needed to win, losing two more wickets. Sharjeel Khan remained not out after scoring 89 runs with 14 fours and 2 sixes.
KRL’s Sharun Siraj and Owais Zafar scored centuries against Eshal Associates at the State Bank Stadium. KRL declared their second innings against Eshal Associates after scoring 335 for 5 wickets. Sharon Siraj scored 103 runs with 11 fours and 2 sixes. Awais Zafar played played an unbeaten innings of 103 runs with 9 fours and 6 sixes. The two added 162 runs in the fifth wicket partnership.
Eshal Associates were given a target of 490 runs to win. At the end of the game, they had scored 23 runs for one wicket. Higher Education Commission were bowled out for 324 runs in the first innings against WAPDA at the KCCA Stadium. Abdullah Fazal (94) was prominent with 67 runs. Khalid Usman took 5 wickets for 73 runs.
WAPDA had scored 213 runs for 5 wickets in the second innings. Yahya bin Abdul Rahman scored 57 runs. OGDCL were bowled out for 249 runs in the second innings against PTV at the NBP Sports Complex. Abdul Rahman Muzammil scored 82 runs. Chasing a target of 255 runs to win, PTV had scored 13 runs for no loss.
