ISLAMABAD: The administration of Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to construct an underpass at the junction of Murree Road and Srinagar Highway to solve the problem of traffic jam at Kashmir Chowk (Dhokri Chowk) on Murree Road in Islamabad.

CDA has ordered consultant firm Nespak to prepare the design of the project in this regard. A survey has been initiated for the design. CDA officials said that it has been decided to construct this underpass to provide direct access to Srinagar Highway to traffic coming from Murree and Bara Kahu.

Traffic coming from Murree and Bara Kahu through the underpass will reach Jinnah Underpass directly. Currently, it has to go through the Kashmir Chowk roundabout and go to the Srinagar Highway. The underpass will save them both time and fuel. Traffic pressure at the roundabout will also be reduced.

The money saved from the Jinnah Underpass project will be used for the construction of this underpass. This project of public interest will be completed in just 60 days.
