Cars over 10 years old and up to 1300cc are still paying an annual token tax in Punjab, including Islamabad. This is an undue requirement and has become an obligation on the part of owners of such cars. In some cases, even cars over 15 years old must pay this tax. The relevant department needs to revisit this policy and should abolish the annual token tax on cars noted above.
