World Bank team will be given guided tour of the cultural and historical places of Lahore

LAHORE: A delegation of the World Bank will arrive in Lahore today on a two-day visit to Punjab. It will consist of nine Executive Directors of World Bank, Acting Country Director, Vice President and Corporate Secretary (SECVP) and two Coordinators for Pakistan. On the order of the Chief Minister, the delegation will get the status of state guests and instructions were issued for foolproof security arrangements. Reliable sources told “Jang” that the focal person of the visit on behalf of the Punjab government will bePlanning and Development Board Secretary Dr. Asif Tufail. Sources said that before coming to Lahore, the World Bank delegation will visit water and sanitation sites, schools and health facilities in the neighboring villages of Sargodha district. The team will assess the impact of government initiatives on sanitation, health and education on public life to assess the quality of service delivery in Punjab. The World Bank team will be given a guided tour of the cultural and historical places of Lahore. A sumptuous dinner has been organized for it, which will be attended by private sector and academic stakeholders. The dinner is organized by renowned industrialist Syed Babar Ali. The World Bank team will meet with Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif at 10 am to discuss the work done in Punjab under the World Bank’s new country partnership framework program for Pakistan. They will leave for Karachi tomorrow.
