GUJAR KHAN: Noted religious scholar Prof Ahmed Rafiq Akhtar has said that growing intellect and development are driving the world closer to destruction while resources are rapidly depleting.
He was addressing a huge annual religious gathering at Gulpera on GT Road. Theme of the gathering was “Growing human intellect and the Divine Will.”
Prof Ahmed Rafique Akhtar said, “One-third of the land is left to meet the needs of current population, while four more Earths are needed to meet the biological requirements. Creators of artificial intelligence (AI) are themselves afraid of it. AI is a miracle of development, but there is no ethics involved in it, which will prove destructive for the world.”
He added, “In the last days of the world, governments will be headed by scientists and politicians will quit governments or they will be removed. Today’s topic is not the conflict between the views of the people of two nations, or the clash of two philosophies, but this is the age in which the creation is clashing with its Creator and is close to making claim of being god. Children born in this period suffer from autism, unable to receive information other than from the screen.”
He noted, “In the 20th century, the environment caused irreparable damage to human life. According to a UN report, 2.2 billion people out of eight billion people do not have access to clean drinking water. Man has progressed to the point that he is about to end the world. Until the 20th century, man could not know many things that the Quran had explained long ago. Today, every statement of the Quran has proved to be 100% correct and now it is not easy to deny Allah. Allah has given man the consciousness to judge good and evil. Intellect acts as a bridge between Allah and man. By 2030, AI will acquire the ability to put the head of an old person on a young body. However, we will be completely defeated in the war that we have started with Allah Almighty for land, wealth and power.”
About 12,000 knowledge seekers from the country and abroad participated in the session. The district administration had made strict security arrangements for the religious session. Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Sweet Homes Chairman Zamrad Khan, Dr. Shoaib Suddle, Zulfiqar Cheema and religious scholar Dr. Muhammad Jalil from America were also present.
