ISLAMABAD: PTI founder chairman Imran Khan Wednesday expelled firebrand lawmaker Sher Afzal Marwat from the party. A late-night notification issued by the PTI Central Secretariat, bearing signatures and name of Additional Secretary General Firdaus Shamim Naqvi, said Marwat had been expelled from the party on the instructions of founder chairman.
“Further to the Show Cause Notice issued to Mr. Sher Afzal Marwat and his subsequent reply, the party has considered his reply and also his actions subject to the Show Cause notice. Taking both these aspects into consideration and on the instructions of the Founder Chairman of the Party, Mr. Sher Afzal Marwat is being expelled from the party with immediate effect,” reads the notification, a copy of which is available with this correspondent. However, before the issuance of the notification, Marwat took to his X account to blame conspirators for causing a lot of damage to the party. He wrote that Imran’s habit was to listen to rumors.
“I have been defamed repeatedly by the people of my party. If I am expelled, I will welcome the decision to be expelled from the party because I have become sick of the daily trolling. I could not give a befitting reply to these conspirators due to the party discipline,” he wrote.
Marwat cautioned that if loyalty and sacrifices were repaid in this horrible way (trolling and expulsion), no loyal will dare to come forward for PTI and Khan Sahib. He said these conspirators have caused a lot of damage to the party because they had taken full advantage of Khan Sahib’s habit of listening to rumors.
“…I have not left Khan Sahib but if he leaves me, then I will never go to him again…I have many untold stories for Pakistanis. I will always respect Khan Sahib and he will always be my leader. From now on, keep the party discipline in your pocket,” he concluded.
