Police detain man for warning of attack on Modi’s aircraft

MUMBAI: The police have detained a mentally unstable man for calling the police main control room and warning about a terrorist attack on PM Narendra Modi’s aircraft.

When the police detained the caller, in his forties, it transpired that he was mentally unstable and had made hundreds of calls to the control room for various things in the past. With the help of technical intelligence, the police traced the person residing in Chembur. “He is mentally unstable. He made around 1,400 calls to the control room in the past. He is kept at an observation centre,” a police officer said. No case was registered.
