ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has directed all relevant deputy commissioners to attach 521 properties belonging to four accused in the £190 million case (also known as Al-Qadir Trust case), as ordered by accountability court of Islamabad on February 3.
The order contained the list of properties of the accused who are proclaimed offenders in the case recently decided by the accountability court.
In this case, the court had sentenced Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi 14 and seven years respectively. The order as shared by NAB sources states, “The Investigation Officer NAB has brought instant application through Special Prosecutor NAB u/s 88 Cr.P.C for the attachment of properties of the accused who were declared proclaimed offenders by this Court vide order dated 06.01.2024”. “...properties of the said accused are hereby attached u/s 88 Cr.P.C till further order and the concerned Deputy Commissioners are hereby appointed Receivers of the said properties accordingly. The powers, duties and liabilities of the Receivers so appointed under section 88 Cr.P.C shall be the same as those of a Receiver appointed under Order XL of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908. Notice be issued to the accused at the given addresses and all concerned, accordingly and compliance report to the same effect be also submitted in this Court within seven days”.
