Under most legal systems, salary is considered a fundamental right because it is essential to ensure the right to fair and just working conditions. But, in Pakistan, this right is flagrantly violated – payment of salary is stopped, delayed or deducted by those in authority on irrational grounds or on the basis of extraneous considerations.
This denial of regular salary in this age of high prices is a grave offence. Those who fail to pay their employees on time and in full, must be held accountable.
