Taylor Swift has reached her breaking point with BFF Blake Lively.
The international pop sensation is taking a step back from her decade-long friendship with the Gossip Girl alum after being unwillingly dragged into the actress’ heated legal battle with Justin Baldoni, according to a new report by Daily Mail.
Swift, 35, was name-dropped in Baldoni’s $400 million lawsuit against Lively, in which he claimed she used Swift to “intimidate” him into accepting script changes for their film It Ends With Us.
According to Baldoni, Lively brought Swift into a meeting with her husband, Ryan Reynolds, making him feel pressured to comply with her creative vision.
Swift reportedly had no idea the meeting was still ongoing when she arrived at Lively’s New York penthouse, and sources say she was uncomfortable being portrayed as some sort of leverage.
“She is conscious of her image and hates that she was even mentioned,” one source claimed.
“For the time being, she is taking a step back from Blake because she doesn’t want to get tangled in this more than she already has,” another shared.
The second source continued, “Her friends also think that Blake’s ‘I’m Khaleesi, and like her, I happen to have dragons’ text to Justin was uncool and unnecessary because she was essentially used as an intimidation tactic.”
In Baldoni’s countersuit, Swift was once again referenced as Lively’s “mega-celebrity friend” who allegedly added pressure to the situation.
Now, insiders claim the singer is stepping away to protect her own reputation.
