Glenn Close, the renowned American actress, shared her concerns regarding the use of AI in Hollywood during red carpet ahead of the gala fundraiser event at Sundance Film Festival.
The Deliverance actress while speaking to The Hollywood Reporterrises the question on excessive use of AI, saying that, "What is going to be truth? What is true is going to be a big question."
The Fatal Attraction actress further said that she doesn’t want her "image or voice to be reconstructed". The 101 Dalmatians star explained that with everyday use of AI, people may lose their jobs stating it as a "sad dilemma".
Close also emphasised on importance of the stories that teach us how to be humans.
She urged the people to “keep coming back” and be influenced by the things that, "that help us with our emotions to know what it means to be human and [to always] to look into somebody else’s eyes not a screen but another human being’s eyes."
The 77-year-old three-times Emmy Award winner added that, "If we lose that, it’ll be a very slippery slope, I’m afraid."
Close also praised the founding director of the Sundance Institute's Feature Film Program, Michelle Satter.
"She really takes my breath away," Close told The Hollywood Reporter. "She’s just such a beautiful human being and she’s given so much to so many, and it’s unparalleled what she’s done for film, certainly for independent film, but for film at large."
Last year in March 2024, it was announced that Glenn Close joined Daniel Craig, Jeremy Renner and Cailee Spaeny in upcoming Netflix film, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.
