Matric student commits suicide ‘after being scolded by father’

In two incidents on Saturday reported in Korangi, a 10th grade student and a disabled person committed suicide by hanging themselves.

The body of a young man was found hanging in a house located in Korangi 6, Sector 51C, Zaman Town. The deceased was taken to Jinnah Hospital, where he was identified as 22-year-old Faizyab, son of Muhammad Arshad. SHO Atiqur Rehman said the parents of the deceased said in a statement to the police that Faizyab was scolded by his father at home over something, which made him depressed and he committed suicide by hanging himself at home.

In a separate incident, the body of a person was found hanging at a house located near DA Society of Korangi Allahwala Town. The deceased was shifted to Jinnah Hospital, where he was identified as 42-year-old Adnan, son of Arif. SHO Malik Amir said the initial investigation revealed that the incident was a suicide. The deceased's brother told the police that Adnan had been involved in two or three traffic accidents in which he was injured and became disabled. Adnan used to walk with the help of crutches and was very depressed about it.
