LAHORE: A new initiative involving a “Disco Support Unit,” comprising Rangers, Military Intelligence, ISI, and other law-enforcement agencies, has begun yielding positive results in the fight against electricity theft in the Lahore Electricity Supply Company (LESCO) region.
Following the formation of this task force, defaulters owing crores of rupees have started making payments, with some clearing their dues in full and others opting for installments.
In a notable instance, Lesco reported that out of 10 defaulters owing a total of Rs200.514 million, some settled their bills completely, while others issued post-dated checks for payments in 3 to 5 installments.
The defaulters, including those from Lahore’s Ravi Road, Badami Bagh, Industrial Subdivisions, and Shalimar, are now complying with recovery efforts.
The defaulters who have requested for payments in installments include Lahore Ravi Road Subdivision Consumer Reference Number 24-11132-2400322 for Rs12.8 million, Badami Bagh Subdivision Reference Number 24-11152-0158010 for Rs12.839 million, Industrial Subdivision Reference Number 24-11919-9067006 for Rs3.5 million, Baghbanpura Subdivision Reference Number 24-11355-9005307 for Rs42.114 million, Shalimar Subdivision Reference Number 24-11313-9002901 for Rs48.427 million.43.049 million rupees due to Baghbanpura Subdivision reference number 24-11355-9004444, 32.903 million rupees due to Baghbanpura Subdivision reference number 24-11355-9005307, 7.119 million rupees due to Shalimar Subdivision reference number 24-11313-9001100, 19.017 million rupees due to Shalimar Subdivision reference number 24-11313-9002103 and 8.582 million rupees due to Kot Abdul Malik Subdivision reference number 26-11164-9179225.
