FPCCI delegation meets Sindh minister for anti-corruption

KARACHI: A delegation of the Standing Committee for Anti-Corruption of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) met with Sindh Minister for Anti-Corruption Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar to discuss the prevailing corruption issues faced by the business community in the province, said a press release on Thursday.

The delegation, comprising Rizwan Umer Jaffar, Syed Israr Ali and Dr Ismail Bhutto, presented a detailed account of the complaints received from various departments, highlighting the need for urgent attention to address corruption issues. Mahar assured the FPCCI delegation that all their concerns would be addressed on a priority basis, emphasising the Sindh government’s commitment to combating corruption.

During the meeting, the minister informed the delegation that Sindh’s anti-corruption department is being digitalised, which will significantly reduce corruption and enhance transparency in government dealings. He also assured that timely action would be taken against officers found involved in corruption, following receipt of complaints.

The FPCCI delegation appreciated the Sindh minister’s assurance and expressed hope that the issues faced by the business community would be resolved soon. The meeting was a positive step towards promoting a corruption-free business environment in Sindh and enhancing the confidence of the business community in the government’s efforts to combat corruption.

On this occasion, the delegation of FPCCI also invited the Sindh minister for anti-corruption to visit their FPCCI head office in Karachi, which is expected to further strengthen the collaboration between the government and the business community in combating corruption.
