ISLAMABAD: The petrol price may tumble by Rs2 per litre but the price of high speed diesel (HSD) is likely to hike by Rs3.62 per litre from January 1, 2025 for the next fortnight.
According to industrial sources, there is no demand and supply issue in the international market, however, the uncertainty triggered on account of geo-political situation, particularly the Syria situation and how the new US leadership would handle the world problems is driving the POL prices at the moment. The premium on petroleum is at $8.69 per barrel. The reduction in petrol price by over Rs2 per litre has been worked out with a hike in diesel price by Rs3.62 per litre. Petrol price for the next fortnight may settle at Rs250.20 per litre. However, after an estimated increase of Rs3.62 per litre, the diesel price may settle at Rs259 per litre.
