KARACHI: The Swat Trade Show 2024, organised by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), enters its last today (December 29).
The two-day event (Dec 28-29) at the Nakreezay Event Complex, Mingora, Swat was inaugurated by TDAP Chief Executive Muhammad Zubair Motiwala and Secretary Sheryar Taj on Saturday, with Senior Director General Muhammad Naseer and Director General Peshawar Noman Basheer also present at the opening ceremony.
The inaugural session was attended by notable guests, including President of the Swat Chamber of Commerce and Industry Noor Mohammad; Vice Chancellor of Swat University Prof Dr Hassan Sher; President of the Apple Growers Association Salahuddin Khan; and former minister for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa forest department Wajid Ali Khan.
Speaking at the event, Motiwala pointed to the importance of trade shows in empowering local businesses and fostering economic development across Pakistan. He highlighted Swat’s rich heritage, culture and craftsmanship as vital assets for the country’s economic growth.
After an eight-year gap, the Swat Trade Show returned with the aim of promoting trade, commerce and investment opportunities in Swat and surrounding regions. The event featured over 80 stalls, offering a platform for businesses, entrepreneurs and investors to display their products and services in an international format.
In addition to product displays, the trade show provided business-to-business (B2B) networking opportunities, a trade development conference focusing on trade-related topics, cultural performances and traditional food stalls. The two-day event, which ends today, is open to people with free admission.
