PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram on Wednesday said the party would reconsider the civil disobedience movement call if the seriousness of the government was observed in talks.
“We have been asked not to compromise on the two core points during negotiations -- the release of all political prisoners, including the PTI founder, and formation of a judicial commission to look into the May 9 and November 26 incidents,” said Waqas Akram while quoting Imran Khan. Talking to Geo News by telephone, he said the PTI founder had directed the party leaders to keep the civil disobedience call intact.
Sheikh Waqas Akram said the party founder had authorized only three leaders -- Waqas, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan and Secretary General Salman Akram Raja -- to comment on the global issues.
He said apart from these three, no one else was supposed to speak on global matters on behalf of the party.
