ISLAMABAD: In the light of the orders of Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Law and Justice has directed all federal ministries and divisions, federal departments and autonomous bodies to stop sending paper files to it, stating the law ministry should only be approached digitally through e-office.
This instruction has been made in an office memorandum that has been sent to all ministries and divisions. This office memorandum refers to the letter of the Prime Minister’s Office dated December 11. Under the Rules of Business, 1973, the Ministry of Law and Justice performs the advisory duty of legal and constitutional drafting, scrutiny and inspection on bills, ordinances, rules and regulations and other legal matters. In this regard, ministries, divisions and federal departments send manual files for legal opinion. The Ministry of Law and Justice has completely shifted its work to e-office and is functioning on fully automated office procedures.
