Minhaj annexes Punjab Open Golf title

LAHORE: Rawalpindi’s Minhaj Maqsood emerged victorious in the 43rd Punjab Open Golf Championship, held at the Royal Palm Golf Course in a tournament marked by unexpected twists and turns.

Minhaj secured the title with a remarkable gross score of 72, finishing with an aggregate of 213 - three under par. His ability to maintain composure while other competitors faltered proved to be the decisive factor in his triumph.

Four accomplished golf professionals shared the second spot with a score of 215, one under par: Muhammad Shabbir of Margalla Greens, a veteran with an impressive 200 golf titles, Muhammad Munir from Rawalpindi, M. Zubair from Karachi Golf Club, and Tahir Bashir from Lahore Garrison.

Other notable performers were Muhammad Shahzad and Asif Ali, both scoring 217, and Muhammad Alam, Hamza Taimur Amin, Ashiq Hussain, and Talat Ijaz, who completed the top ranks with scores between 218 and 219.
