ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) has summoned the Pakistan Football Federation’s (PFF) Normalization Committee (NC) chairman on November 26 directing him to take along all the relevant documents on the election process that is near to completion.

Sana Ullah Khan Mastikhel, the committee chairman, said he would ensure that the PFF’s elections should be organized and followed as per the PFF Constitution.

“Only the elected body of the federation has the right to make changes in the constitution.

We will ensure that the election process has been undertaken in accordance with the laid down constitution.”

The committee directed NC Chairman Haroon Malik to halt the election process till the November 26 meeting.

“Haroon must ensure his presence in the meeting to take the committee members in confidence in the free and fair election process.”

The NA Committee chairman added that if the members deem it necessary, a sub-committee could be formed to monitor the PFF’s election process.

“Football federation is meant for the Pakistan athletes. Every effort would be made to ensure a free and transparent election.”

Naveed Haider, a former PFF official who was also present, told members that the process followed by NC was far from fair.
