ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is reportedly frustrated with the Shehbaz Sharif government for breaking promises, avoiding consultations and refusing to coordinate.
The PPP’s future with the government will now be decided by the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the party. According to sources, Bilawal will convene a CEC meeting upon his return, where critical decisions are expected. Sources said the government has not fulfilled its promise of equal representation for both the PMLN and PPP on the judicial commission.
In protest, Bilawal withdrew his name from it last week. The PPP had initially nominated Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Senator Farooq H. Naek as members of the Judicial Council in line with the government’s pledge for equal representation.
Sources said the PPP had sought a structure in which the Judicial Commission would include two PTI, two PPP and two government members, including the law minister and attorney general, ensuring balanced representation.
