One of Pakistan’s most cherished bands, Josh (featuring the dynamic duo Rup Magon and Qurram Hussain) have released over four full-length albums worldwide. Having collaborated with international artists such as Nelly Furtado and Apache Indian, the band has been part of the music scene for more than a decade now.

And now, like many of their contemporaries, they are also experimenting with film music in Pakistan, at least partially since one of the two lead vocalists from the band, Rup Magon has lent his voice to an upcoming film.

When we contacted Magon to verify the news, his publicist confirmed that he has sung the title track for the upcoming Pakistani film Teri Meri Love Story. “The song has been recorded in Toronto,” he noted. As for the nature of the song, it’s an upbeat tune “with some notes from folk melodies in it.”

This is the first time Magon’s song will be featured in a Pakistani film. Earlier he was also offered to sing for the Mohib Mirza-Sanam Saeed starrer Bachaana but things didn’t work out due to issues relating to the budget as well as the character of the song.

Directed by Jawad Bashir, Teri Meri Love Story is a romantic comedy starring Mohib Mirza, Ushna Shah and Omer Shahzad in a love triangle.
