ISLAMABAD: The Establishment Division has instructed all the ministries and divisions to send their working papers one week before the meeting of the Selection Board and Promotion Board.

The instruction was given Wednesday in an office memorandum (OM) sent to secretaries of all the ministries. The OM reiterated the earlier directive to send working papers a week in advance so that promotion cases could be examined in detail.

Generally, ministries and divisions call meetings of Selection Board and Promotion Board and invite representative of the Establishment Division to attend the meeting on a short notice. If time is short, many important aspects are not verified, including duration of service.

The working papers for promotion cases must be sent a week in advance to verify all aspects and to ensure merit, the OM said. It asked the ministries to implement the directive to ensure transparency of decision-making is not compromised.
