LAHORE: Diamond Paints and Sheikhoo Steel emerged victorious in their respective matches on the third day of the Pink Polo 2024 tournament at Jinnah Polo Fields, securing spots in the tournament’s final stages.
In a thrilling encounter, Diamond Paints outplayed Guard Group/Zaki Farms with a score of 9-4.5, qualifying for the main final. Raja Jalal Arslan and Mir Huzaifa Ahmed were the standout performers for Diamond Paints, each contributing four goals to their team’s tally. Mir Shoaib Ahmed added one more to complete their scoring.
“Our team’s coordination was excellent today,” said Raja Jalal Arslan after the match. “We’re looking forward to maintaining this momentum in the final.” For the defeated Guard Group/Zaki Farms, Shah Qubilai Alam scored two goals, while Ahmed Bilal Riaz and Taimur Ali Malik managed one each.
In the day’s second match, Sheikhoo Steel secured their place in the subsidiary final by defeating Nine Polo 8-5.5. Two matches are scheduled for Friday (today): Newage Cables will face Rijas Polo at 2:45 PM. The semi-final between Master Paints and FG/Din Polo will take place at 3:45 PM.
