LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) issued a show cause notice to opening batsman Mohammad Hafeez for his tweets regarding players’ education.

Shaharyar had termed lack of educated players in team as one of the vital causes of Pakistan’s poor performance at the international stage.

Hafeez, who is fondly called “professor” by fellow players, said during a question and answer session on Twitter with the fans that education is an important part of life but “Having degrees r not enough. I m proud to b a TEST cricketer#my DEGREE”.

He further wrote, “Cricket is a complete education of a human being I believe.”

The board perceived Hafeez’s tweets as opposing the PCB boss and asked a written explanation from him.

Hafeez stated that he had just answered a fan’s question on social media and he was unaware of the whole scenario.
