High-octane is totally unavailable at petrol stations. Vehicles have catalytic converters that get clogged due to low octane being used. During the 1960s, it was mandatory for stations to display the octane value of petrol.
Nowadays, super petrol, which is supposed to be 91 octane (RON) is anything between 65 octane and 80 octane due to which engines malfunction. Due to this consumers have no choice but to run from pillar to post looking for high-octane fuel. The petroleum ministry should ensure that pure, unadulterated fuel with correct octane value is properly displayed at every petrol station.
